About Me

Drawing by Lois Eighmy: Adam Joaquin Gonzalez (© 2009)

I am a writer, artist, and crafter. I am a fledgling digital photographer, fishkeeper, and terrarium planter. I love tea, chocolate, curry, and anything Italian.

I am a married mother of two young adults, a grandma to three cute little boys, and the proud owner of a white calico kitty and a brindle mutt poochie girl.

I love music, movies, and books. My favorite kind of music is Christian rock, but my tastes are very eclectic. My favorite genres of movies and books are fantasy and thrillers, especially if they delve deeply into what makes the characters do what they do and feel the way they feel.

I daydream of traveling the world and going on exciting adventures, if only vicariously through my characters. I live a boring life, but am satisfied in knowing that I love and am loved in return.

  1. Checked it out, and … omg, what talent. I’m jealous.

  2. Lois, your artwork is fantastic. You should have a gallery page so we can see more.

We love all the same things including satisfaction with love and be loved.

    • Thank you, Tricia! :D

I have a CafePress store. I also have a note card store on Greeting Card Universe. Will those do for now? ;)

That’s awesome! And you know, I can’t say enough good things about my hubby. He’s been very supportive of me and my writing dreams (and my art dreams, too, when I’m “into it”). He’s my rock! :)

  3. Hi Lois ~ Your drawing of Adam Joaquin is wonderful. You have a beautiful drawing talent. I especially like the special tint of the drawing that looks sepia (at least on my mac monitor). And I like the way the shadows play to describe each part of the drawing.

Even if you haven’t traveled, it doesn’t sound like you have a boring life and that you have the important kinds of talents…artist, writer, crafter. I am also an artist, a writer, crafter & amateur photographer. I have done some travel, but most of my travel is through reading books. And watching movies. I also like to travel with people like Rudy Maxa, Rick Steves (Italy’s Countryside at our home right now!) and Samantha Brown, to name a few we’ve watched from Netflix.

Have you ever had curry chocolate? Check this out: http://www.vosgeschocolate.com/product/naga_exotic_candy_bar/exotic_candy_bars

    • Catherine,

Thank you for all the great compliments! :D As far as artwork is concerned, I’m most comfortable with portrait drawing with good old fashioned paper and pencil, but it’s taken a backseat to other things lately. I want to get back to it, but I’ve been waiting for inspiration to strike. ;)

I’ve thought about renting travel DVDs from Netflix, but haven’t done it yet. I’m afraid it will depress me. I should give it a shot anyway, though. In fact, I think I will! :)

I’ve never tried curry chocolate, but it sounds like something I’d love. I love curry, and I love chocolate, so why not? Thanks for the link! :D

Have a great day, and thanks for visiting,

  4. Lois, I love your bio! You have such a rich-sounding life. And you know I love that drawing. I’m so glad you put it on your blog.

    Hugs from ~ Milli
